About Us

We are a family-owned and operated business in the metals recycling and processing industry since the 1940s. We started our journey as humble scrap metal collectors in Europe, trying to make ends meet.

Through dedication, hard work, and sheer determination, we are now an industry leader.

Our Beginnings: A Metal Collector's Legacy

In the 1940s, a family struggled to make ends meet, so they took the street looking for scrap metal to sell. They worked tirelessly to build their knowledge and expertise, always striving to find better ways to serve their customers.

In the 1970s, the family business expanded across multiple European locations.

By 1985, they marked a significant milestone by opening their first DRAC metals and recycling facility.

As the early 2000s dawned, DRAC ventured across the Atlantic to the USA, rapidly establishing dominance in the Midwest region as the go-to industry expert.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

Not only was the DRAC legacy leading the precious metals recycling industry, but they also became known as the go-to experts for catalytic converters.

In 2019, DRAC’s processing facility was built in St. Louis, Missouri, with a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced shearing and dust collection systems, giving DRAC the cutting edge in processing catalytic converters more efficiently than ever.

Our process allows our customers to benefit from higher returns when toll refining and we’re proud to be able to offer them the best service possible.

STAYING TRUE TO OUR ROOTS

Despite our success, we still remember our roots. We still travel to other Midwest states to buy catalytic converters. And if there’s enough quantity, we’ll even travel as far as Texas or Florida. We believe every customer is important, and we’ll go to great lengths to make sure they’re happy.

At DRAC, we’re more than just a business. We’re a legacy of the industry.
